Los Angeles County Municipal Fire Departments Frequencies

LA County is divided into several geographical "OES" mutual aid
areas. Most departments in these regions have automatic mutual aid agreements
with neighboring departments, share common frequencies and station numbering.
Because of problems in the past, there is now a County Wide VHF Radio Plan to
help departments communicate with each other during large mutual aid incidents
within Los Angeles County.

Downey FD handles dispatches for the Compton, Downey, Montebello and Santa Fe Springs Fire Departments. All dispatches are done via voice and MDT. All VHF dispatches are transmitted on a low power repeater. All major incident on VHF are handled on command "250", and are simplex.
